Paxil is a medication that can be used by itself or in conjunction with other medications.

Paxil is a member of a group of drugs known as Antidepressants or the SSRIs.

It is unclear whether Paxil is safe or efficient in children.


INDICATIONS

PAXIL is prescribed to adults to treat:

  • Major depressive disorder (MDD)
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Disorder of panic (PD)
  • SAD is a form of social anxiety. (SAD)
  • GAD, also known as generalized anxiety disorders (GAD)
  • The posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

DESCRIPTION

Paroxetine hydrochloride can be described as an off-white, odorless powder that has an melting point range of 120deg to 138degC as well as an Solubility range of 5.4 mg/mL within water.

Tablets The film coated tablet has paroxetine hydrochloride equivalent to paroxetine. It is as follows 10 mg yellow (scored) 20 mg of pink (scored) 30 mg blue 40 mg-green. Inactive ingredients include dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate magnesium stearate and hypromellose. polyethylene glycols and polysorbate 80 sodium starch glycolate titanium dioxide one plus one or more of: D&C Red No. 30 aluminum lake D&C yellow No. 10 aluminum lake, FD&C Blue No. 2 aluminum lake and the FD&C Yellow No. 6 aluminum lake.

Suspension For Oral Administration

5mL of orange-colored, orange-flavored fluid has paroxetine hydrochloride that is equivalent to paroxetine 10 mg. Inactive ingredients comprise of the chemical polacrilin potassium microcrystalline cellulose propylene glycol and glycerin. propylparaben, methylparaben sodium citrate dihydrate citric acid anhydrous saccharin, flavorings and the FD&C Yellow No. 6 aluminum lake and simethicone, USP.
